Stylite
Named after the Greek “pillar saints” who lived atop columns, preaching, fasting and praying, Stylites were common in the early days of the Byzantine Empire. Immortalised in Luis Buñuel’s Simón del Desierto, Mark Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, and Umberto Eco’s Baudolino, these pious beings are the inspiration behind this wistful light. The Stylite light has a calming, soothing presence and is perfect for creating a meditative environment. Inspired by the sensual curves of Aegean architecture, its repeated alcoves create small light installations.
Paper Folding Design
The Stylite floor lamp has been handcrafted using chemically coated German paper and created using a single sheet. It has been trimmed, folded and put together by hand. Although delicate, it is also robust, resistant to tears and waterproof, making it color-fast.
High tech LED light column
Inside the paper lamp is an LED column made of cast aluminium and strong durable frosted perspex. The dimmable light has 20 different colours to suit your mood.
Artistic Presence
Whether day or night, the Stylite adds a light and minimal presence to any room. In the day and when turned off, the natural light plays with edges and curves of the paper. Turn on the lamp and it subtly transforms the mood of the space invigorating it with life.
